Peterites Magical Memories Dance

Report to Ozlanka

The Peterites Magical Memories Dance, featuring the ageless Desmond De Silva and the Impressions and the fabulous Kamis, delivered on all counts with guests enjoying a truly memorable night.

From the first songs from Kamis to Desmond de Silva’s last session, guests were treated to a very entertaining night at Bowman Hall, Blacktown, on Saturday, July 28.
Importantly the money raised from the sale of raffles and the auctions of the autographed bats, will help provide more scholarships to several needy students at the alma mater.

Hats off to the dance committee  - chaired by the indefatigable Shiran Viswasm - for providing a first rate night without busting the bank while president Amal Wahab patiently rallied and motivated the troops in the months leading up to the event.

MC Ahmed Farihan, a proud old boy who made the trip from Melbourne, did a marvelous job throughout the evening making sure everything worked off like clockwork.
The committee thanks all the guests who contributed to making it one of the college’s most successful dances in Sydney, all their generous sponsors, the families of the committee members for their help, The two Bands in attendance The Kamis and Desmond de Silva with the Impressions, Caters Manjula Fernando and Dish restaurant, Sriyani and Saliya Tennekoon who handled the beautiful table décor, Shanaka Tennekoon and Event 360 who handled the fantastic lighting, Abdul Sajwani who provided the sound, Thanuja Wijesekera for the fabulous photography and all OBU’s wonderful members – including those who could not make it for various reasons – for their support.

The club is built on the strength and team spirit of its members – both past and present - and the goodwill of the community and support from other school associations – all of which was seen in abundance at the dance.

The lusty and joyous singing of the college anthem Lend a Heart and Lend a Hand capped off the superlative night.
