The Sydney Seniors Singing Group performed at the 75th Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day celebrations hosted by the Sri Lanka Association NSW Inc (SLA) held on 4th February 2023 at Thornleigh Community Centre in New South Wales, Australia.

The group leader and trainer was Shanti Senadeera. She also did the soundtrack for the two songs – Pera diga muthu Atayai me (පෙරදිග මුතු ඇටයයි මේ – කලාශුරි ලතා වල්පොල) sung by “The Nightingale of Sri Lanka” Latha Walpola and Rathna Deepa Janma Boomi (රත්න දීප ජන්ම භූමි – පණ්ඩිත ඩබ්.ඩී. අමරදේව) sung by maestro W. D. Amaradewa.

The singers of the Sydney Seniors Singing Group are Shanti Senadeera, Surathi Sappideen, Cecilin Kuvrju, Sriya Kaviratne, Sitha Liyanage,Champa Uduwela, Swarna samual, Walter Seneviratne, Tilak Ekanayake,    Kithsiri Senadeera and Nizar Sappideen.
