SUNFEST 2024 (Sinhala & Tamil New Year Festival)

FreeThe Sunfest festival, celebrating Sinhala and Tamil New Year, will be held on 13th April 2024 (Sinhala & Tamil New Year Day) at Roselea Community Centre. It will be a full-day event held from 10 am to 10 pm.
The festival contains Awrudu Kema Mesaya, Raban Gaseema, observing new year customs (Sirith Virith), new year games and an attractive Fancy-Dress Parade performed by Children.
The Cultural segment would contain dance, singing and drum performances by the invited artists and dance performances by all dance academies of Sydney. Also, there will be a range of singing items presented by senior groups and choirs from the music academies of Sydney.
The ‘Awurudu Kumariyo’ will be a very colourful and attractive pageant for those who are interested in participating, whose beauty will be equally appreciated.
There will be a range of up to 20 food and other stalls which will cater rice and curry, hoppers, koththu, nasi goreng, hotdogs, village foods, roti, parata wraps, desserts etc.

Morning Segment:

Evening Segment:
- Performances by invited artists.
- Dance performances by all dance academies of Sydney.
- Drum performances.
- Singing performances – Duets, Medleys, and group singing presented by music academies, independent groups and seniors
- This year, ‘Awurudu Kumariyo’ feature will be a colourful and attractive pageant presented by a bevy of beauties whose beauty will be equally appreciated without contest.
- 20 odd food and trade stalls which will cater Rice and Curry, Awrudu Kevili, Hoppers, Cup Cakes, Cakes & other Sweets, Faluda, Iced Coffee, Lump Rice, koththu, Nasi Goreng, Hotdogs, Village Foods, Roti, Parata Wraps, desserts, Short eats, etc
